Andrew Jones from Georgia closed the deal on a hefty 9 point tonight. (10-21-2009). This is Andrews first bow buck and largest whitetail to date with any weapon!!! Congrats to Andrew. Bucks are on the move and several nice shooters have been seen this week. With a little luck we will put another good one on the ground soon. Now booking prime 2010 spots. Tonight we had two bucks shot. The first was a mature 6, taken by Steve Cirucci. Steve hunted with us last season and never had the chance to close the deal. He made up for it this year by putting a perfect shot on this bruiser. The buck only ran 30-40 yards. Ben Chism shot another buck that will be tracked in the morning. We are keeping our fingers crossed. New Rubs are popping up daily, and hunters are reporting bucks starting to bump does around , even though its early. Congrats to Steve!!!! Nice Buck. CCW had a blast this week with a great group of guys from Maine. Several shooters were seen with close calls throughout the week………thats bow hunting. On the last night of the hunt, Jason Beever closed the deer on an older, mature 9 pt. Congrats to Jason, his best buck with a bow to date, and thanks to the entire crew from Maine!!! What a great group of hunters to share a camp with!! Now is the time to book your 2010 hunt as prime dates will begin filling up now, and be gone by Jan. Call the office if you have any questions. This past week was the opener for CCW. Prior obligations would not allow us to hunt any sooner. It has all worked out well as the weather cooled off and hunters did not have to fight mosquitos for the most part. What a roller coaster of a week. We had a special guest, Toby Nugent, this week. Toby and his friend John Blank (A world class wildlife carver and painter), came down from MI with friends and family to enjoy some W. Kentucky hunting. Tuesday night Toby and his camera man had an encounter with a true giant. This 165″+ whitetail was a sight to behold. Hopefully we will have some of the video footage on the www within a couple of weeks. Two hunters this week have had close encounters with 140″+ bucks in addition to the monster. The bad news is they are all still walking around, the good news is there will be opportunities for more CCW clients this fall. Hunt hard and stay safe!! Jason and Cassi / CCW

We had a great time in Louisville. The QDMA members and staff put on a great show and convention. We are already looking forward to next year. This week we are headed to the Mississippi Wildlife Extravaganza in Jackson, MS. The few remaining slots that we have left are filling up fast, and we are beginning to book prime 2010 hunt dates. 
Many of the bucks are starting to fill out. One lucky hunter will get a shot to put this big boy on the ground this fall!!!!
Cassi and I had a great time in Birmingham meeting new folks and hanging out with friends. Most impressive were the guys we met with ATHENS ARCHERY! They are a new company that will soon be heard around the archery world. Athens Archery and Buck Commander have teamed up and produced and awesome bow. We look forward to slinging some arrows this fall with Athens Archery products. If you are in the market for a bow you owe it to yourself to check them out.
